The geographical area is a low-income slum community in Mumbai city – Vikhroli Parksite and most families are migrants who are mainly from northern states and other districts of Maharashtra, and have now settled in this pocket. A skill development and support project in which 50 boys and 50 girls were targeted for training in their area of choice and supported with employment during the subsequent 12 months. Priority was given to the differently abled from among the youth group. Computer basics, tailoring, and housekeeping were the sectors identified for boys, & hair care, beautician, tailoring, and computer basics were sectors identified for girls. the project has been completed successfully, and the target youth are subsequently gainfully employed.
