Project Covid-19 Relief

Covid-19 Relief Initiative funded by TV Today Network

The 7-month Covid-19 lockdown had a huge impact on the informal sector, and our initiative provided redress to a community struggling  for basic necessities to  alleviate the burden of seriously affected people. 450 families across Mumbai and Thane districts were provided 12 tons dry ration to enable their sustenance for 2 months in trying times: 400 families are located in rural Shahapur, and 50 families are from  an urban slum settlement – Vikhroli Parksite. Material was sourced at lower prices across 4 days due to the good offices of a personnel of the agricultural produce body APMC. Transportation for packaging was done over 2 days, followed by packaging over a week which ensured income generation for the then 7 unemployed  workers, at a well wishers unit The untiring efforts of volunteers at both the distribution locations made the material delivery possible.
